catch me at stareablefest 2019!
TLDR: I’m going to be competing LIVE in the 90 second pitch contest at StareableFest on July 20th!
So, back in January I decided I wanted to flex my creative muscles more. I’ve been making stuff with and by my friends, but I wanted to make something that I could fully call my own.
I was reminded of last year’s StareableFest (a webseries film festival run by stareable.com) had an event where pre-selected finalists pitch their idea for a show in 90 seconds or less in front of industry pros and the winner gets a development meeting. That’s when it hit me: this is my chance. I decided I would submit to this year’s competition.
I spent the next two weeks or so going back and forth on ideas before eventually settling on one: a docuseries about people (like myself) living with an “invisible” condition.
I threw together a quick script and recorded a video of me giving my pitch, which I then submitted to the festival (before the earlybird deadline!).
Then the wait began. Selections weren’t being announced until June.
Fast foward some and while I’m at work I get the e-mail that holy shit, I got in!
I really couldn’t believe it but here we are I guess.
All that to say, catch me at StareableFest this weekend! Come over and say hi, and if you’re around you can see me and many others compete live in this year’s pitch competition!
